Charles Johnston Badger (August 6, 1853 – September 7, 1932) was an admiral in the United States Navy. His active-duty career included service in the Spanish–American War and World War I. ==Life and naval career== The son of Commodore Oscar C. Badger (1823–1899), Charles Badger was born August 6, 1853 in Rockville, Maryland. He attended the United States Naval Academy, graduating in 1873.〔(Arlingtoncemetery.net entry )〕 Badger served in ''Cincinnati'' (C-7) during the Spanish–American War, and climaxed his career as Commander in Chief, Atlantic Fleet. He served as superintendent of the United States Naval Academy from 1907 to 1909. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal for his contribution as chairman of the Navy General Board during World War I. Rear Admiral Badger died September 7, 1932 and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery. He was an hereditary member of the Military Order of the Loyal Legion of the United States.
